Big Expansion for Summit Systems Engineering

The award winning engineering team of SPRA Corporate Member, Summit Systems, is bursting at the seams as it prepares for a boom in equipment installations over the coming year. Encouraging growth forecasts across automotive, packaging and construction have led the company to prepare for expansion.
Chris McCormack will be heading up the new, streamlined engineering division. Chris was appointed Engineering Manager earlier in the year following an impressive track record across other parts of the business. He has undertaken a major modernization programme within the department, enhancing processes, updating training and recruiting a variety of new technical professionals to the team. The changes will ensure projects are delivered in an efficient, effective, professional manner to consistent high quality standards.

Engineering Team at Summit Ssytems
New additions to the team include Service Manager James Gilbert who re-joins the company in January after a two year sabbatical in Cyprus. James first joined the business 10 years ago as a trainee engineer. His Plastic Industry Award for ‘Apprentice of the year 2007’ still hangs on Summit Systems’ employee wall of fame. He also remains the face of a Summit Systems advertising campaign. James brings immense experience across a variety of products and brands which he will be using to oversee the management of the engineering service team.
David Edge joins the team as Projects Manager, with a passion for process improvement. David is a highly skilled engineer trained at the Rolls Royce academy, with over 15 years’ experience within automated FMCG, food, distribution & JIT (just-in-time) manufacturing environments. He is proficient in installation and commissioning, continuous improvement, control systems, and fault finding. His portfolio includes automated distribution systems, conveyors, packaging lines and robotics.

Matt Lloyd moves upstairs from partner and next-door neighbour Maguire. Summit Systems enjoy a very close relationship with the material handling specialists who are perhaps most famous for their world-leading blender range. Matt has been appointed Technical Engineer to support specifications, testing, R&D and project engineering.
Summit Systems is in the process of recruiting another electro/mechanical design engineer and a CAD designer to support the burgeoning department.
Chris McCormack, Engineering Manager says:
I am honoured to be part of a team that is so firmly committed to helping our customers. When we say 24/7 support we really mean it and there is never a moment when one of our team is not on-hand to get out to help, even if that is 2am on a cold, dark, wet Sunday morning!    We firmly believe our new staff, and major process improvements will help our clients further by cutting downtime and bolstering efficiency across projects, breakdowns and maintenance scenarios.”
